The application

Safe and precise lifting solutions in potentially explosive atmospheres

As part of the redesign of a paint shop and drying hall, work areas for the manual coating of ball valves were set up in an ATEX zone.

Colour dust in the air makes the use of spark-free lifting technology absolutely essential. At the same time, the sensitive surface of the ball valves requires precise and controlled load handling to prevent damage.

A solution is only possible with specially suitable, ATEX-certified lifting technology.

The solution

Compact crane solutions for painting and drying zones

Pillar jib cranes with mini hoists with load capacities of 250 kg, 500 kg and 1 tonne were installed for the painting stations. A Profi 2 TI hoist is used in the drying hall. All cranes have the required ATEX classification and are specially designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Thanks to their robust design and low maintenance requirements, the systems offer a permanently reliable solution in demanding coating environments.

JDN took care of the whole project – from consulting to manufacturing to commissioning. The project management made sure everything went according to plan and that a flap was technically integrated to secure the door system, even though the design dimensions were tight.

All components meet the requirements for safe operation in an explosion protection zone. Thanks to close coordination with our preferred partner and the customer on site, installation, commissioning and acceptance went smoothly.
