It is in our DNA as a family business to act sustainably. Because just as sustainability has the goal of ensuring generational viability, it is also always our ambition not only to bring the company into the next generation, but to do so in the best possible way. This is also clearly reflected in our JDN way: “At J.D. Neuhaus, it is tradition to think further. To become better. To find new solutions. To act sustainably. To be progressive.” This means implementing processes and actions in harmony with the environment, keeping an eye on long-term economic efficiency gains as well as social justice, educational opportunities and equal chances. This results in the claim to be the most successful and sustainable manufacturer of lifting solutions and to put people at the center of our undertakings. For J.D. Neuhaus, sustainable management in combination with living social and ecological responsibility is the clear competence for the future.
“Sustainability is firmly anchored in our family business. We actively assume responsibility with regard to the environment, society and in the economic context with suppliers, customers and our employees.“
Gitta Neuhaus-Galladé, Head of Corporate Development, Human Resources & Sustainability
Firmly anchored in our corporate philosophy is the aspiration to continuously improve. For this reason, together with our external partner Fokus Zukunft, we have drawn up a carbon footprint for the company in accordance with the internationally recognized calculation methodology of the Green House Gas Protocol, taking into account the three scopes. This enables us to identify reduction potential in an even more targeted manner and to initiate further long-term measures to reduce our carbon footprint accordingly. We compensate for the specifically recorded emissions that are currently unavoidable through certified climate protection projects. When selecting the certified projects, we not only paid attention to a global ecological contribution, but also to the social contribution of the respective project. Thus with the certificates, we support two cooking stove projects in Sudan as well as in Mongolia, which both have been certified through the Gold Standard and a water project in India, which has been certified according to the Verified Carbon Standard.
JDN is committed to developing increasingly comprehensive waste prevention measures and expanding the company’s climate friendliness. Through the resource-efficient production and development of lifting equipment, the involvement of our customers and suppliers, and the responsibility of people in the value-added process, JDN aims to avoid waste. For example, every hoist is already produced with 100% green electricity, a complete switch to LED lighting has been made, and the latest technologies in production and value creation guarantee minimal resource consumption. Also sustainable projects like the greening of the company premises or the settlement of JDN bee trunks make sustainability tangible at JDN. In the company and at our locations we live social responsibility. We are committed to a sustainable human resources policy and in personnel development we focus on enabling internal careers through continuous promotion of the individual. In our immediate environment, we have long been involved in social projects.
“The permanent establishment of a quality and environmental management officer is a clear and further commitment of the company to active and sustainable action. This is also reflexed in our philosophy, the JDN Way.“
Dennis Fischer, Certified Environmental and Quality Management Representative
