The second Witten Climate Market took place: J.D. Neuhaus was present
The second Witten Climate Market took place on the initiative of Klima Allianz Witten. Our responsible for corporate development, human resources and sustainability, Gitta Neuhaus-Galladé, was there with an interview on the topic of "Sustainability as a success factor: family businesses stand for sustainable action at all levels across generations".
Together in the conversation with Katja Lohmann-Hütte from the company Friedr. Lohmann, it became clear that both companies would no longer exist as they do without their sustainable actions at all levels. "It is in our DNA as a family business to operate sustainably. Because just as sustainability has the goal of ensuring generational viability, it is also always our ambition not only to bring the company into the next generation, but to do so in the best possible way. This means implementing processes and actions in harmony with the environment, keeping an eye on long-term economic efficiency gains as well as social justice, educational opportunities and equal chances. Much of what we have done in the more than 277 years of our company's history has naturally come from within us. Now is being subsumed by society under the term sustainability," says Gitta Neuhaus-Galladé. In addition to examples of actions already implemented in both companies, such as LED lighting, suppliers "around the church tower" or the JDN production system with the aim of avoiding waste, the topic of employee recruitment and development was also addressed. Among other things, development is provided and the promotion of internal careers is at focus. "Clearly, we are developing and looking for people who share our values and are interested in acting sustainably," explains Gitta Neuhaus-Galladé.
