Today, the J.D. Neuhaus Group celebrates its 280th anniversary. Founded in 1745 as a small forge, the company has developed into an internationally active specialist for pneumatic and hydraulic hoists. Despite its long tradition, the focus is firmly on the future: digitalization, sustainability, and the further development of its global locations shape the family business agenda. Tradition and innovation have gone hand in hand for generations.

“280 years is a very special anniversary. As a family business, we carry responsibility for the people who have shaped J.D. Neuhaus in the past and those who shape it today. This awareness has guided me since joining the company forty years ago and fills me with gratitude and pride,”
The anniversary is being marked today with a joint gathering – at the Witten headquarters with the local workforce as well as digitally with international teams. At the heart of the event are activities highlighting the worldwide connectedness of the J.D. Neuhaus Group: one of them being the signing of an anniversary flag, which will travel as a “wandering flag” to all global locations throughout the year before returning to Witten at the end of 2025.

“As the eighth generation, this anniversary is both a responsibility and an inspiration for us. We want to continue our family’s tradition while at the same time setting new impulses for the future.”
