This week would have marked the 100th birthday of Johann Diederich Neuhaus, the sixth generation of our family business. He worked for J.D. Neuhaus for 43 years and made many important contributions to our company during his time there.
With his groundbreaking idea of replacing manual operation with a pneumatic drive, he revolutionized lifting technology and made hoists more efficient, safer, and more reliable. What began in the German mining industry soon spread to various demanding industries worldwide. One of his most important innovations was the introduction of our PROFI series at the time.
On January 1, 1995, following a well-planned succession process, he handed over the company to the 7th generation, Wilfried Neuhaus-Galladé, thus ensuring the company’s continued success. His passion for progress and tradition also led to the founding of our company museum, which keeps the history of lifting technology alive for future generations.
J. Diederich Neuhaus had a lasting impact on JDN, and we are proud to carry on his legacy.
